22 Months Old-December 2011
Henry turned 22 months old on Christmas Eve! Soon, he'll be two! He got some new teeth this month (3) so he hasn't been in the best mood. They were his canines, so we had some cranky days around here! Otherwise he has been doing really well. I guess I should mention that he has bucked his nap a couple of days, here and there, but he is still napping most days. Henry still loves his cars and trucks and just took a big interest in trains. Finally Henry has started to eat green beans again (he was a no veggie streak) and he also decided to like mandarin oranges. Henry can also ID some shapes and colors (mainly red, green, star, and circle). His vocabulary has continued to grow! He is putting sentences together (like, I want it. or I see that truck.). Here are some of his new words/phrases:
Ugga Boo (peek-a-boo)
I Stuck
Okay
Counting--one, two, three
Ready, set, go!
Race
Cookie
Snack
Eat
Sit
Oh, Wook! (look )
Hurt
21 Months Old-November 2011
Henry turned another month older on Thanksgiving Day. He finally has another tooth (one canine-ouch)! The count is currently 13. Henry can ID some body parts--toes, nose, eyes, mouth. He has been sleeping really well at night and is still napping for about 2 hours everyday. This is a streak for naps at our house as the girls were done napping at about 18 months. He is chatterig up a storm! New words/phrases are:
I did it
I not
Stop
Bubble Guppies
Chip
Mema (Emma)
Nana (for Anna and Banana and)
Gan (Gran)
Ganpa (Grandpa)
Dandad (Grandad)
Nanna
His favorite food right now is definitely pizza. He calls every food pizza even if it isn't. He loves popcorn, which is defintely a no-no right now, but he is quick to get to the bowl when he sees it.
20 Months-October 2011
Henry is "up all night" (well, not ALL night, but for a good 30 minutes or so) each night having a party in his crib--literally. He jumps, laughs, and has conversations with himself. Usually he doesn't cry and if he does, he doesn't require much to get back to sleep-thank goodness! I'm almost positive these nightly parties are due to teething, but there are no new buds to report! As far as motor skills, Henry is walking up and down stairs on his own. He only wobbles here and there. New words: Let's go, guys, Nemo (he loves snuggling his Nemo at bedtime and naptime), book, spoon, and what . This month Henry went to Boo! at the Zoo for the first time with his sisters!
19 Months-September 2011
Henry is moving right along! He doesn't have any new teeth, but must be teething on and off because he is waking at night and seems kind of cranky sometimes. He is really enjoying his Mother's Day out class once a week and has adjusted well. We are slowly breaking his separation anxiety :). He's definitley a meat and potatoes kind of guy...He continues to love chicken, potatoes, corn, and any kind of bread. If it's green, he will not eat it! I've had to be sneaky with the veggies. Henry still loves his cars and could play with them for hours and hours! New words this month are: Shelby, done, did it.
18 Months-August 2011
Oh, what isn't my sweet boy doing these days?! I can hardly believe he is a year and half old! Time truly has flown right by. I'm going to do things a little differently this month and do things in a list order of stats, so here it goes!
Weight: 32 lbs. .5 oz
Height: 35 3/4 in. (he really is right up there with his sisters!)
Clothing Size: 3t
Shoe Size: 7/7.5
Diaper Size: 5, working on 6
Sleep Habits: Still napping once a day (a first at 18 months for my kids!) and sleeping all night most nights (he likes to use his mattress a trampolene around 2am sometimes ;-))
Teeth: 12--He got two new molars on the top this month
New Words/Phrases: No-No, I love you, ready, truck, baby, bye (sounds more like die, so we get a kick out of it)
Favorite Foods: He continues to love breakfast-waffles, pancakes, and cereal bars. Spaghetti is also a big fav. Oh, and cookies :).
Loves: His dogs, cars, Bubble Guppies, bathtime, the book Trucks by Byron Barton, his blue blankie (he finally has started to use it to sleep with at nap and night time)
Dislikes: Cold foods, strangers, diaper changes
Other stats: Henry is walking and running everywhere! He'll shake his head "yes" even when he means "no". He's using a fork and spoon these days--makes a big mess, but I had to give in to his independence. Henry babbles sentences all the time--even at 3am!
17 Months-July 2011
Henry is babbling like crazy! He carries on some interesting conversations these days. New words are circle and cereal bar (he LOVES Nutragrain Bars!). The boy can eat! If we didn't stop feeding him at meals I am pretty sure he would eat until he was sick. He loves ravioli and anything pasta. He'll take one bite at a time and say "Ummmmm". He is really walking quite well and takes off into a run sometimes. He NEVER sits still. He takes after Anna Grace in that department. I have caught him playing sitting down one time in the past several months. Since he started walking, especially, you'll find him on the go with cars in each hand. I don't know how he stays up until 7:00 most days. He has to be exhausted! He has really taken up playing with Anna. She loves to play with him and they like to get loud and rowdy together. He is kind of daredevil like she is i.e. climbing tables, opening doors he shouldn't, eating things that aren't supposed to be edible, so I am not surprised they've taken up with each other. One day I am sure they will put their forces together against me :). This month Henry visited the library (he was not very amused) and a local cupcakery (again, not very amused-see photos). We of course have been trying to stay cool at the splash pad, pool, and lake. His favorite of the three is probably the lake. He loves lake water (EWE!). When we are at the pool and parks he would rather run around than get wet and tends to just overheat, which kind of defeats the purpose.Oh, he also got two huge molars on the bottom, one on each side. So he has a total of 10 teeth now.
16 Months-June 2011
Henry is growing at just under 30 lbs! He is wearing mostly 2t clothing but sometimes 3t if he needs a little extra room and size 7 shoes. I just can't believe how fast he is growing! He continues to only have 8 teeth, but this does not stop him from eating. He loves breakfast. His new favorite thing to eat is pancakes. He pretty much gobbles anything you give him right up unless it is too tangy. He isn't a big fan of oranges and those kind of fruits just yet. New words are "car", "bubble" (for his favorite characters on Bubble Guppies), "backpack" as in Dora's, "night" for bedtime, and boy. I have really been trying to get him to say Emma or Anna, but he just won't budge yet. Henry continues to love the pool and lake. We've taken many boat rides and each time he swims with Daddy and loves every minute. Aside from his cars, Henry now likes the toy dinosaurs. He says "roar" in the most gently voice while he playing with them. It is almost too hard to take him seriously :).
15 Months-May 2011
15 months old! Wow, time flies! Henry now has 8 teeth-4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. He is making full use of them eating away and chewing on all kind of things, ha! He tried some new foods this month including waffles, scrambled eggs, baked beans, hot dogs (I know, I know-amazing what you'll feed your third child!), hamburger, and bell pepper casserole. His favorite foods continue to be spaghetti, oatmeal, and bananas. New words and pharses: thank you, what's this?, bye...but his all time most said word still remains: DAD-DEEEE! I think I hear it all day long! He has named all of us "Daddy" :). Oh well! He continues to love his cars and he likes to dance to music too! His favortie tunes are Old MacDonald and some songs from the Nick Jr. show Yo Gabba Gabba. This month Henry hit the beach and took his first boat ride of the season (and his first ever dip in the lake-he loved it!).
14 Months-April 2011
Henry turned 14 months old on Easter Sunday! What a special day! He was so very cute in his button down shirt, just like Daddy. I think he is really, officially Daddy's mini-me. Everyone says so, and well, I think it is true too. He looks just like Bob. There is no denying it. We thought Emma really looked like Bob, but boy Henry REALLY does! He must be gaining weight like a champ because he is so heavy and hard to hold for long periods of time. Another tooth popped through this month for a grand total of 4 on the bottom and 2 on the top. Slowly but surely they are coming in! He is a huge fan of Peek-A-Boo. Before he was just on the recieving end, but now he will actually play with you-so cute! He loves to be sung to as well, especially at night. I would say at nap time too, but we are still working on breaking the swing habit :(. He likes for to sing If You're Happy and You Know It so that he can do some of the motions. He especially likes to clap his hands! New words this month: "cheese" (guess the camera is out way too much), "pretty" and "this"--of course all said in his own variation--and wouldn't you know "daddy" still reigns supreme!? New foods this month off the table were corn, sloppy joe's, and we tried raisins and madarin oranges but he wasn't to keen on the flavors just yet! Henry also took his first steps this month but he is not a fulltime walker yet. He also had his first visit to the zoo!
13 Months-March 2011
Henry is in full teething mode! He has one more tooth on the bottom right for a total of five, but we are back to a full on drool and all the bibs are back out. He is doing much, much better with self feeding. He loves ritz crackers, soft cereal bars, and all kinds of pastas and veggies. I still spoon feed him his oatmeals and messy things :-). He also loves the popular baby staple, Cherrios! He began clapping this month and does a much more official wave, but it looks more like a "come on over" than a wave :-). He still loves his cars and likes being walked around by holding his hands. He will hold his balance on his own for a few seconds at a time so my guess is that he will be walking sooner than later, but who knows!
We had a 'sick' visit last week and he is now over 27 lbs-he loves to eat!
Twelve Months Old-February 2011
Henry is ONE!
Stats: 26 lbs and over 31 in.
Henry has two new teeth (his two front teeth on top!). This makes four! We have been working on self feeding, but he is not there yet. He will only smush food if you put it on his tray, but he will eat pieces of banana and crunchies if you feed him. He also loves broccoli and cheese and spaghetti! Those were two new dinners he tried and he really liked them! He is kind of cruising a little. Nothing big time yet. New words this month were "go", "anna", "uh-uh", "uh-oh", "oh-no", and finally he said mama many, many times not just once-ha! He also repeated a few things we said just once. One time he said a phrase "daddy go". It was so strange to hear out of his little mouth! Of course there is all kinds of jibberish coming out here and there as well. He is comfortably wearing 24 month clothing and taking a sippy cup when he wants to. He isn't a huge fan of juice, but we've tried it on occassion. We've been mixing milk in with his formula and phasing him out of the expensive canned goods! Soon we'll be a cow-milk-only-drinking-family! Now THAT is crazy!
Eleven Months Old-January 2011
Henry is crawling and pulling up onto his feet and knees! He is really enjoying crawling and getting places quickly. He loves hitting toys, especially balls, and then chasing after them. He is also very interested in wheels and anything that spins-total boy! He continues to have a really good appetite. He finally started to tolerate chunky food and is now eating third foods for lunch and dinner. He could eat two jars for some meals, but I feel like that might be over doing it. He is not self feeding snacks really. He has eaten puffs without gagging, once, but he did not self feed. I just don't think he is ready for whatever reason. He loves his bottle but he only wants to hold it on his terms. New sounds this month are "Ca" for Carson our crazy weimarainer, "yeah", and "dee" (which I am pretty sure is another variation of daddy). He loves to give a high five if you put your hand up, play peek a boo, and be coy and flirty--if you pucker up, he'll lean in and give you a smooch! I can not believe my little Henry will be a one year old Hank in just a month!
Ten Months Old-December 2010
Henry is not officially crawling, but he has a really good army crawl down pat. He manages to get around by doing that and rolling. We heard mama a few more times this month, but it was rare! I am working on "hi" "doggie" "emma" and "anna" but he has not repeated any new words yet. No new teeth either though I am sure he is in teething pain since he is still waking at night crying or very early in the morning. I think he could eat all day, but we have him down to 4 9 oz bottles and 3 meals. No snacks yet-Henry has a bad gag reflex and isn't really tolerating puffs or other small finger foods. His pediatricitian didn't seem concerned, so we'll try again a few weeks. He went a little late to his nine month appointment so we didn't have his new stats to report last month. He is growing like crazy! Very long, a huge head, and weighing over 25 lbs. Again, our doctor isn't concerned since he has shown steady (or maybe rapid :)) growth since birth. He is definitely on an upward trend. Maybe a future VOL?
Nine Months Old-November 2010
Finally we have teeth! He cut the two front teeth on the bottom a couple of weeks ago. More must be on the way soon because he is chewing on his paci and not sleeping too well. Henry isn't much of a napper lately and he has been waking once a night every few days. He still sleeps thru the night every couple of days but it is not consistent anymore. He loves sitting up and playing with his toys. We have put away one baby swing and his bouncy seat. He still loves his exersaucer but it doesn't move :-), so he gets frustrated. He has become a big fan of his jumperoo! New sounds this month included mama-once but it was good enough!-, rara, and nana. Henry loved visiting Emma at school this month for her Thanksgiving snack and celebrating his first Thanksgiving with everyone in the family!
Eight Months Old-October 2010
Henry had a very adventurous month! He traveled to SC for his first beach trip. He had a great time and traveled really well. He wasn't the best sleeper, but that seems to be his trend lately. I think it is all due to his teething. Oh yeah, by the way, still no teeth! I think I see them right under the gum, but nothing has broken through yet. Henry isn't crawling, but rolling and scooting seem to still be helping him get around just fine. On the gross motor front he can raise up on his own when laying on his back. He continues to love to stand with assistance. He is sitting up much better but does lose his balance time to time and fall over. He has officially outgrown his baby swing (one of them anyway) and his bouncy, but he still tolerates both which is good for us because he still isn't the best crib napper. Along with the constant Dada we are now hearing Ba-ba's as well. He loves his bottle and as soon as he sees it he freaks out! He loves to eat! He has yet to turn his nose up to any food! His favorite toys are his football rattle, exersaucer, and toys that play music and light up (good thing we have a whole lot of those!). We also found out that Henry LOVES Blue's Clues. He just laughs and laughs during the entire show!
Seven Months Old-September 2010
Henry is still holding strong with NO teeth! It is so odd because I really thought he would have a couple by now. He is teething on his hands and arm like crazy so I am hoping a few pop thru soon so he can give his skin a break :). Henry said Dada this month-his first "word". He is sleeping on his tummy now and rolling around quite a bit in his sleep. He is never where I left him when he wakes up in the morning! When he is playing on a blanket he loves to roll around and be on his tummy. I have caught him rocking back and forth on one knee, but no crawling action yet. He will sit unassited but usually supports himself by leaning forward onto his hands. Otherwise he usually falls to one side because he loses balance. He also LOVES to stand when you hold him. He would rather stand than sit so maybe he will be an early walker. This month he expanded his foods to green beans, squash, corn, raspberries, oatmeal, strawberries, apples, and prunes (for obvious reasons). He gobbles it all up and usually cries when he realizes he has taken the last bite and the spoon isn't coming back. Unfortunately, this month Henry got his first double ear infection. He was pretty miserable for about a week, but pulled through. This month Henry got to visit Dollywood again and Gym Bugs for a playdate with his sisters and some friends.
Six Months Old~August 2010
Wow-Henry is getting bigger by the minute it seems! He is now almost 19 lbs. and 28 inches long! Anna Grace still has every child beat weighing in at over 21 lbs at six months. We've begun solids and while he wasn't a fan during his first tastes he has definitely come around. He loves smacking his lips after every bite! So far he has had bananas, sweet potatos, sweet peas, carrots, and pears. He has not turned anything away. Henry is drooling like crazy, but still no teeth! His sisters have him beat here too-both got their first tooth and 5 and 5.5 months. Where they are hiding, I'll never know. He has all the signs of teething but no teeth. He still sleeps all night, occassionly waking at 5 am (but he does go back to sleep for a bit). He sits up, but not completely unsupported yet-He does lean forward and rest on his hands. This month he visited friends for birthday parties and the UT Gardens with our playgroup. He didn't take in all the sights the garden had to offer, but he was super good, didn't fuss, and loved relaxing while his sisters played. He loves making noises with his lips and blowing spit bubbles. He also has taken a liking to pulling his sisters' hair. We had his six month pictures made and he was a hoot-mouth open and tongue out in almost every picture (sticking his tongue out for the camera has become the signature Henry expression lately).
Five Months Old-July 2010
Henry is growing, growing, growing! This month he laughed out loud in response to funny voices, faces, and toys. He loves to laugh! He also rolled front to back and back to front. He loves to hold toys and chew his fists, fingers, and bibs. He's sleeping well and eating well. He is up to 7-8 oz every 3 hours. He seems to be really hungry lately. We didn't start solids due to beach trips and hectic schedules but we plan on testing out some cereal and veggies this week! He traveled to many new places: Uncle Malcom and Francis' farm in Pigeon Forge, UT to visit Gran's office, and Dollywood (steaming hot!). He enjoyed all his new adventures!
Four Months Old-June 2010
Henry is officially 4 months old, 15 lbs. 13 oz. and over 26 in. long! He is growing so quickly that most that we've had to break out his 6-12 month clothes. He is eating a 7 oz. bottle for breakfast and then 6 oz bottles the rest of the day. He is sleeping all night from 8-7am. He has a few nights every now and then where he tries to press his luck and wakes up around 1am, but the paci and reswaddling gets him right back to sleep. We found out this month that Henry has a small hole in his heart that should have closed before birth. We have seen a great pediatric cardiologist who told us this is very common in babeis (1 in 5 actually) and that is might even close naturally on its own and poses no health risks or restrictions. We were very relieved to hear this news! He has discovered his hands and loves to grab onto things and look at them as well. He is scooting around on his side and trying his best to roll over, but nothing has happened yet. He is cooing, ahhing, and guhing and has also picked up a new trick-making spit bubbles! Henry also uttered his first giggles in the past month! So cute! We are going to try solids in a few weeks, so stay tuned!
Three Months Old-May 2010
Well, Mr. Henry is growing, growing, growing! We are not sure of his exact weight or height because his next well baby check up is not until four months old. He is fitting into his three to six month clothing and some of those outfits are getting snug, so I would say he is right on track. Currently, he is eating 6 oz. every three hours. He is spitting up like crazy, but he is on reflux medication. While this is not really helping with the spitting up, it is helping with the discomfort. Henry is a mix between Emma and Anna Grace. Well, he looks JUST LIKE Emma, but he acts like them both. He does not nap well and does not like bedtime, which is just like Emma, BUT he sleeps all night from 8-7 just like Anna Grace. Henry has great head control and loves "talking" to anyone around. He loves to smile at everybody and he is very observant. He also likes to smile at himself in the mirror. Some other things he really likes are: the baby swings, music, his bouncy seat, his hands, and the lights on his play mat. He loves to open and close his hands and almost always has them balled up into fists while feeding, but he has yet to grab onto a rattle and hold it. Oh, and he loves to chew on his paci and bottle nipple, so my guess is that he is already teething-YIKES! Some firsts this month: a visit to Home Depot with Daddy, a short visit to Mommy's school, and testing out the exersaucer for the first time.
Two Months Old-April 2010
Henry is growing like a weed! His current weight is 13 lbs. 5 oz.-95th percentile. He doesn't miss any meals! Right now he is eating 5-6 6oz. bottles a day. He is sleeping pretty well at night, from about 8 or 9pm and waking between 4 and 6am. He cut out his midnight and 3am feedings on his own! He trying to roll over, lunging to one side when he is on his back or in the swing. He loves people watching, bright colors and being held. His favorite "toy" is his playmat and he loves his sound machine and any kind of music. This month Henry learned to smile! He likes to smile at Mommy, Daddy, his sisters and any kind of toy that lights up.
One Month Old
Time sure does fly! Little Henry isn't so little anymore. He is weighing in at 10 lbs. 7 0z. and a little over 22 inches long. Needlesstosay he is another good eater! Right now, he is taking 4-5 oz. every 3-4 hours. He is doing really well and only waking once a night between 2 and 4 am. We're hoping he is sleeping thru the night like his big sister Anna at two months. Time will tell! He does pretty well with his eating, wake time, napping routine during the day. He is super alert during his awake times. His eyes are turning a little brownish-green. I think they will be brown eventually. His newborn clothes are snug and he is fitting into his 0-3 month clothes with no problem. He has a little bit of reflux which is causing some discomfort, but nothing too terribly bad. He is holding his head up well and already cooing and gooing. He is very, very snuggly and loves to be held and rocked. We are so happy with our little man!
March 3, 2010~One week old
Wow, time flies! One minute I'm in the hospital and the next Henry is a week old. He is doing so well. We could not ask for a better baby. He is sleeping pretty well at night so far. The past few nights he has only been up 1-2 times. It has been a blessing. We had his first doctor visit on Monday and he checked out just fine. He already has been working on holding his head up for a seconds at a time. We look forward to seeing what else he can accomplish in his first month!
He's here! Henry Parker arrived at 12:02 pm on February 24, 2010. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz-the smallest Hart baby yet!-and 20 inches long. He was a squirmer and screamer right away, but as the day went on he calmed down and was able to nap and eat like a champ. We'll see how the next few days go ;-).
UPDATE: February 19, 2010 Another visit to the OB and I am still just 4cm! This is definitely the slowest I have progressed based on the my three pregnancies, especially considering I started progressing earlier this time too. I only had to be 5cm to be admitted today for an induction, so that was a little disappointing, and baffling considering how I have been feeling. I will be 39 weeks next Wednesday and we are scheduled for an induction at 6 am. I have no doubt that the labor and delivery will be pretty quick once they get the pitocin going. I had Anna within two hours of starting the pitocin, so I expect Henry will be just as quick.
UPDATE: February 16, 2010 We had our 38 week appointment today and found that I have not changed much since last week-still 4cm. The concern at this point is that if I get to 5cm I could easily deliver very quickly (I am 100% effaced). I am also GBS positive and becuase of this will need penicillin two hours before I deliver. I was also GBS positive with Anna, but there was less concern that I would go into spontaneous labor with her. So, no eating or drinking after midnight on Thursday night and we are due back for another appointment Friday morning at 8:30. Sounds as if I could be sent over to labor and delivery afterward! We also had an ultrasound this appointment. Henry looked great. We saw some hair floating around and he is measuring on track, in fact a little bigger. His weight is estimated around 7lbs. 5 oz. We also saw some 3-D images. I think he will look a lot like Emma, which means another replica of Bob-he had the notorious Hart Elvis lip which was one of Emma and Bob's signature poses.
UPDATE: February 8, 2010 At our 37 week appointment today, we found out that I am already 4 cm dilated! This is a 2 cm jump from last week. Dr. Walker estimates that Henry will be here within the next 10 days! This makes me a little nervous-I don't like not knowing exactly when something will happen. His room is all ready, so all we need now is baby brother!
UPDATE: January 2010 This pregnancy is flying by! Over Christmas Break I had a terrible UTI, but I recovered after about a week and started to feel much better! Henry was just showered with gifts at a baby shower over the long MLK holiday weekend. We got so much stuff and are so very thankful to all our family and friends! His nursery is still in the works, but it's getting there. As soon as we have it ready I will post some pictures. We should have another ultrasound in a week or two to get a weight estimate. Only 6 weeks or so to go!
UPDATE: November 6, 2009 We had another ultrasound today. Henry has turned! So we are good to go for a natural delivery IF he does not flip again. Everything is measuring right on track for March 3. The ultrasound tech said she thinks he will be a big baby. Emma was 7.12 and Anna Grace was 8.5 so she said if the babies get bigger each time chances are he will be bigger than the last. He has long muscular legs already and, of course, Daddy is ready to put him in his pads and jersery for football and he is not even here yet. He is a little excited, if you can't tell!
UPDATE: October 9, 2009 Today we got some very surprising news! We are expecting our first baby boy! Daddy is very excited and I am still in shock. I hope I will know what to do with a little boy after over two years of bows, dresses, flowers and everything girly! Henry Parker is due to arrive March 3 (or sooner). Currently he is breech-I am desperately hoping he moves before his due date. The tech said the chances are good, but if he hasn't moved by 30 weeks, he probably won't. So, he has 10 more weeks to do some moving! I also have an anterior placenta so this explains why Henry's movement in so infrequent and hard to feel. Apparently that really cushions what I can feel. My next appointment is Nov. 6 and I have another ultrasound scheduled. I will post pictures of his latest ultrasound very soon.
August: We don't know much, other than we are due March 7, 2010 and there is only one baby in my rather large belly! We can not wait to find out the sex on October 9, but already anticipate another girl . |
